Session 1 – Securing Your Active Directory Against Cyber Attacks

Active Directory (AD) has become the favored target for attackers to elevate privileges and facilitate lateral movement through leveraging known flaws and misconfigurations. In this presentation, we will demonstrate how to effectively monitor your AD environment so you can see every change, predict which anomalies or weaknesses carry the greatest risk, and act to disrupt critical attack paths before attackers exploit them

About the Speaker(s):

Chris Jensen is the Public Sector Business Development Executive at Tenable, where he develops strategic cybersecurity initiatives and supports programs in federal, state, and local markets. Prior to joining Tenable in 2017, Chris served in a broad range of leadership roles in Public Sector IT contracting, including business operations, contract and program management, and business development. Chris began his professional career as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Craig Birch is a Principal Security Engineer with Tenable supporting Enterprise and Public Sector Accounts with a primary focus on Active Directory security. He has over 20 plus years of real-world knowledge in Active Directory architecture and operations. His broad areas of expertise include Active Directory architecture, AD migrations, identity management, Azure AD, and Office 365 technologies. Prior to joining Tenable, Craig helped organizations architect, build, and secure Active Directory and Office 365 environments.

Session 2 – The Cybersecurity Workforce of Tomorrow

With a current cybersecurity workforce gap between qualified cybersecurity professionals and both industry and government sectors now in the millions, it is getting increasingly more difficult to identify, attract and retain a highly educated and highly efficient cybersecurity workforce. Add to that the introduction and advancements in AI and Machine Learning, Quantum Resistant Cryptography and now Chaos Testing into the cybersecurity infrastructure and the workforce of tomorrow looks very different than it does today. Dr. Michael Nizich, author of The Cybersecurity Workforce of Tomorrow presents various discussion topics from his latest book and discusses how we can get better prepared for the changes coming down the road for all of us.

About the Speaker(s):

Michael Nizich is the director of the Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation Center (ETIC) and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Computer Science at New York Institute of Technology. He has more than 25 years of professional experience in information technology in a variety of industries, including aviation, education, law enforcement, biotechnology, and cybersecurity. Nizich has held IT leadership positions in both private and publicly held companies and in higher education and is the author of a new book entitled The Cybersecurity Workforce of Tomorrow from Emerald Publishing. Nizich also has chapters published in academic textbooks, various academic publications and has also been interviewed and quoted in Newsday, Communications of the ACM, Fox 5, CBS, U.S. News and World Report, Lifewire, The Economist, Techopedia, Multi Briefs, Infosecurity Magazine and Crain’s New York.
