The ISC2 New York City & Long Island Chapter is pleased to host the next meeting for May! Join us onsite in New York City or Long Island, or virtually, for our monthly Chapter event on May 29, 2025 featuring a discussion on:
- CMMC by Deltamine and DataSoftNow – presenting onsite on Long Island, and
- Cyber & geopolitical risks rising from the Digital Silk Road by Recorded Future – presenting virtually.

Non-members and the public are invited to attend and can register for a nominal fee or join the Chapter. Our annual membership is $40 for professionals and $15 for students. Meeting fees are waived for members. This event will qualify for two Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

Topic Summary: Using CMMC for Third-Party Risk Management
This presentation introduces the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as a comprehensive framework for managing third-party risk in the private sector. Originally developed by the U.S. Department of Defense to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), CMMC is positioned here as a scalable, enforceable, and evidence-driven approach to address growing cyber threats from vendors, subcontractors, and service providers.

Allen Ureta is a cybersecurity and governance expert with nearly 40 years of experience supporting regulated industries and national defense initiatives. As a Lead CMMC Certified Assessor and authorized CMMC instructor, he helps organizations mature their cybersecurity posture using frameworks like CMMC, NIST, and COBIT. Allen leads Deltamine’s advisory and training services, focusing on third-party risk, cyber readiness, and digital transformation.

Tom Nohs, President, DataSoftNow
Tom Nohs is a Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) and CISSP with over 35 years of experience supporting small and mid-tier businesses in cybersecurity and IT operations. As President of DataSoftNow, he specializes in helping organizations prepare for and prevent cyber events through proactive security measures and CMMC-aligned readiness. Tom has worked with law enforcement and forensic teams on ransomware and incident response cases and has led numerous NIST SP 800-171 assessments for DoD contractors. He brings deep expertise in third-party risk, compliance, and cyber insurance strategy.
