Who is taking care of the cybercrime victims?

Abstract:
The Cybercrime Support Network’s national program partners with law enforcement to serve victims. The impact of cybercrime on the economy, personal lives and our critical infrastructure is growing exponentially each year. Loss estimates are in the trillions worldwide. Two questions are not being addressed on a national level in the US. Where does a consumer or small business call to report a crime and get help? And, what coordinated resources are available from federal, state and local law enforcement and consumer protection agencies? The Cybercrime Support Network is providing a voice for the victims and building a national program to improve victim services and response for consumers and small businesses.

Speaker Bio:
To address the needs of individuals and small businesses impacted by cybercrime, Kristin founded the nonprofit Cybercrime Support Network and works with corporations, federal, state and local law enforcement and consumer protection agencies. As an international thought leader, Kristin has contributed to the World Economic Forum “Partnership Against Cybercrime,” DEMOS, “The Great Cyber Surrender: How police and governments abandon cybercrime victims,” and Third Way’s, “A Roadmap to Strengthen US Cyber Enforcement: Where Do We Go From Here?” and is called on by media outlets like Time Magazine, VOX, SC Magazine and Government Technology to share the latest on cybercrime impacts. Kristin was named an SC Media “Women in IT Security Influencer” and “Women of Influence” by the Executive Women’s Forum. She is an international speaker, sharing cybersecurity best practices and cybercrime impacts with elected officials, businesses and consumers and authored the LinkedIn course, “Cybersecurity for Small and Medium Businesses: Essential Training.”

Know when to SOAR – Improving Security Operations with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response Solutions.

Abstract:
Join us for this session to gain an overview of what SOAR is, what problems it attempts to solve, when you should consider investing in SOAR and what you can expect when you do. Aimed at those of you looking to begin the path to implementing SOAR, and those who are just curious, we will cover the landscape and not be tied to any particular vendor or architecture. If time permits, we may include a demo of an open-source SOAR toolkit called Shuffle.

Speaker Bio:
Keith Henkell is currently working with NYC Health + Hospitals
to manage and oversee the Governance, Risk, and Compliance process and tools, as well as to manage the facility Information Security Officer program. Prior to NYC Health + Hospitals, Keith led Information Security teams at Meditology Services (Atlanta), CenterLight Health System (New York), and EmblemHealth (New York). Keith has a long standing passion for securing and defending healthcare information systems, having started his career deploying firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint agents, policy and vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions. A native of Long Island, where he lives with his wife and two daughters. When not thinking about security, Keith is active traveling, board gaming, off-roading, and arguing with Yankee fans.
