Speaker 1:
Charity Wright, Principal Threat Intelligence Consultant, Recorded Futures
Abstract:
Democracy continues its decline for the 18th consecutive year. As over 50 major countries prepare for polls in 2024, threat actors are increasingly interfering with and
manipulating voter decisions, posing a grave risk to the integrity of elections and democracies around the world. Whether through cyber attacks on voting technology, foreign influence campaigns, physical disruption of election processes, or the proliferation of AI-generated disinformation, our readiness is paramount.
In this presentation, we will explore the profound impact of free and fair elections on democracies worldwide, along with the formidable challenges in safeguarding them. We will examine the myriad ways electoral integrity is under threat and discuss strategies for identifying, analyzing, and neutralizing these threats together.
