Session 1 – Accelerating Your Third-Party Cyber Risk Management Program
With the current push for digital business transformation, organizations increasingly rely on products and services offered by third-party vendors, which expands the surface for security incidents, data breaches, and other risk exposure caused by those vendors.
This change in risk exposure posed by third parties calls for organizations to manage and mitigate
third-party risks actively. However, many third-party risk management programs are developed as tactical responses to ensure compliance with a growing list of data privacy and cybersecurity regulations, resulting in labor-intensive and inefficient processes that deliver marginal productivity or value.
While organizations depend on each other for mutual success, we can position ourselves to avoid negative surprises by actively vetting, managing third-party risk, and using technology as an enabler. Third-party risk management, developed correctly, can add significant value to an organization.
