Nebula Academy in Syosset hosted the general ISC2 Long Island Chapter meeting. A discussion panel entitled “Security Operations Briefing and Panel Discussion: Current Realities and The Strategic Landscape” was facilitated by Marv Stein, Vice President of the chapter. Panelists, Dan Constantino from Cox Automotive, Dan Koppelman from NY Bank Corp, and Bin Zhang- Associate Director for CEWIT at Stony Brook University provided valuable insight into threat intelligence sources, and how SOC operations have changed with the shift to cloud based solutions. Key takeaways from the panelists included focusing on sources that are accurate and actionable, and the sharing of intelligence across the community.

Shortcomings in the response plans were noted along with potential tools, techniques and strategies that could have helped to enhance the response process to these high profile breaches
