Speaker 1:

Benjamin H. Sherman (Cyber Security Engineer, Fortinet)

Topic Summary:

Reviewing 2.7 billion years of history, patterns emerge/re-emerge that could improve defense-in-depth cybersecurity today. Patterns recognized and proven foundational for the fields of epidemiology, operations research, economics, and financial engineering are yet to be fully embraced within cybersecurity infrastructures. The next emergent pattern is close, so some practical budgetary advice on what to (not) do from a longer-revisionist-view of history is offered.
