More sun tolerant than the average liriope, the Super blue liriope is a fantastic ground cover for any landscape. This semi-evergreen blue-green foliage reaches around 2 5' Tall & wide, & looks fantastic at the base of a large tree or just as a mass planting. Summer sees lavender flower spikes shoot up, providing a reliable annual Pop Of Color, which is then followed by glossy black berries. Plant this heat & drought tolerant grass in moist, loamy soil for best results.

  • STRIKING COLOR: Super Blue Liriope is known for its vivid purple blooms compared to the others in the Liriope family. With long splaying blades of green foliage and tall purple flowers, it's no secret why these are some of the most popular plants for borders. Super Blue can reach 20 inches in height and makes for a beautiful container plant.
  • RELIABLE BORDER PLANT: Use Super Blue Liriope in mass plantings, under large trees, as a border or pathway edging. Super Blue is a hard-working perennial grass and will flourish in most settings. When the lavender spears are blooming, bees are attracted to its blooms and birds to its small fruit.
  • EASY MAINTENANCE: In the early spring, feel free to cut back this monkey grass to remove battered leaves and allow new leaves to flourish. A trimmer or a correctly set lawnmower is acceptable when cutting this plant. After trimming these perennial plants, be sure to mulch the area with straw, pine bark mulch, or compost in preparation for the spring—plant in well-drained sandy or loamy soil.
  • USDA ZONES: Thriving in zones 5-11, Super Blue Liriope tends to do well in partial or filtered shade. Water the plants regularly during the first growing season, but not daily. Although not a desert plant, liriope is a drought-tolerant perennial once well established.
  • POTTED PLANT: Ships as a 2.5 Quart potted plant with soil from the Alabama Gulf Coast. Not guaranteed to be in bloom upon arrival. This plant is unavailable to ship to Hawaii and Alaska.
