Novoflex ASTAT-SL Tripod Collar for Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 2,8-4/24-90 + 2,8-4/90-280, Black

The latest in NOVOFLEX’s popular ASTAT tripod collar line, the ASTAT-SL is designed specifically for the heavy SL lenses, the Vario-Elmarit-SL 2,8-4,0/24-90 mm ASPH and the Apo-Vario- Elmarit-SL 2,8-4,0/90-280 mm. This new tripod collar relieves the weight on the tripod thread of the camera as well as of the camera bayonet and enables a well-balanced assembly of the lenses by moving the tripod mount point closer to their balance point. The tripod collar can be easily rotated, allowing a quick change from landscape to portrait format. Moreover, the collar is equipped with an ARCA- compatible dovetail as well as of 1⁄4“ and 3/8“ threaded holes. Thus, it is suitable for all compatible quick release units and nearly all tripods. The Leica does equip the Apo-Vario-Elmarit SL 2,8-4,0/ 90-280 mm with its own clamp, however it does not have an ARCA dovetail. The standard tripod clamp can be replaced by the ASTAT-SL without any problems. The ASTAT-SL is precision machined in Memmingen, Germany and like all NOVOFLEX products is held to the strictest of quality control standards.
