AC-DC Nickel-Iron Alloy Electrode for producing, salvaging, and repairing all cast irons. Ideal for joining, filling, and building up gray and alloyed cast irons. Suitable for fabricating and repairing pump housings, valves, castings, fittings, and general cast iron repairs. Deposits are machinable and strong. Procedure: Use AC or DC reverse polarity. Vee out cracks. Preheat heavy castings to around 400F for optimal results. Direct the arc onto deposited metal with the electrode at a slight angle. Lightly peen between passes and use a skip or back-step welding technique. Allow castings to cool slowly.
