Owning the Expobar Brewtus IV-P

The Expobar Brewtus IV-P, a step up from the standard Brewtus IV, is a large capacity dual-boiler espresso machine equipped with a vibration pump. The brew boiler temperature is monitored by a PID, which keeps temperature stable to the degree, and can be adjusted to accommodate various espresso roasts. Just like on the standard Brewtus IV, the dual-boiler system allows you to brew and steam at the same time and also helps with temperature stability. Expobar rounds out the design with their specially redesigned E61 group. Traditionally, an E61 constantly syphons hot water through the brew circuit to ensure temperature stability; Expobar also integrated a concave pre-infusion chamber into the Brewtus IV-P’s group to fully saturate the grounds prior to brewing for a more even extraction. A major upgrade from the standard Brewtus IV model, you can choose between using the Brewtus IV-P’s large 2.6 L reservoir, or plumbing the machine into a water line. We recommend plumbed use, as you can install an inline BWT water filtration system and remove the need to descale along with the need to refill the reservoir. Internally, Expobar utilizes premium-level components, which are configured in such a way that any future maintenance is hassle-free.

We must admit, we’re rather partial toward the Brewtus models, as we were instrumental in the machines’ development back in the mid-2000s. We’ve found that the Brewtus IV-P is highly efficient, making it just as at home on an entertainer’s countertop as it is in light-duty commercial space. It’s not as pretty as some of its peers, but the Brewtus is interested in performance, not appearance, and it undercuts the competition on price, too. The Brewtus IV-P is ideal for the serious espresso lover who favors results over aesthetics. Other versions include the Brewtus IV which also has a vibration pump, but no plumbability option; and the Brewtus IV-R, which is a rotary pump machine that is exclusively plumbable and doesn’t include a reservoir.
