Please join us for our January meeting featuring the topic of Exploring the Threat Landscape – Then and Now with Ashlie Blanca from Palo Alto and Tia Hopkins of eSentire. This will be a hybrid event at NYC and Long Island locations and will include Teams access for remote attendees.

Tia Hopkins, Chief Cyber Resilience Officer & Field CTO at eSentire

Abstract:  Join Tia Hopkins in an exclusive executive conversation around how security leaders today are improving their organization’s ability to anticipate, withstand and recover from cyber attacks.  We’ll discuss strategic security trends, Tia’s perspective on the balance between risk and resilience and why security leaders everywhere need to prioritize preventing business disruption and optimizing threat recovery time.

About Tia Hopkins

As Chief Cyber Resilience Officer & Field CTO, Tia Hopkins is focused on engaging with the cybersecurity community, providing thought leadership, supporting strategic customer and partner engagements, and working closely with the sales, marketing, product, engineering, and customer success teams to drive security outcome-focused initiatives.

She has spent the past 20+ years of her career in various IT and IT Security roles and has over a decade of experience in the managed services space. Outside of her role at eSentire, Tia is also an adjunct professor of Cybersecurity at Yeshiva University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Cybersecurity Leadership.

Tia holds a B.Sc. in Information Technology, M.Sc. in Information Security and Assurance, as well as a M.Sc. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. She was recognized by SC Media as a 2019 Reboot Leadership Award recipient in the Outstanding Educator category. In 2020, Tia was awarded The Software Report’s Top 25 Women Leaders in Cybersecurity and the Cyber Defence Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity. She was also recognized in 2021 by IFSEC Global as a top global influencer in the Security Executives category.

Speaker 2:

Ashlie Blanca, Consulting Director at Palo Alto

Abstract: Unit 42 will provide a brief overview of Unit 42 services and methodologies before delving into what the threat landscape looked like in 2023 – to include the most impacted industries and prevalent attack vectors, and predictions of what is to come in the new year.

About Ashlie Blanca

Prior to her current role as a Director at Unit 42 by Palo Alto Networks, Ashlie spent four years with a big data analytics company, where she was an intrusion analyst assigned to the U.S. Govt. There, she served as an integral member of its Technical Analysis and Special Operations team conducting non-signature-based threat hunting operations, performing malware analysis, and identifying and eradicating global threats. Prior to that, Ashlie served as a member of an internal Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), where she identified and responded to network-based intrusions, the mishandling of personal identifiable/health information, supported proactive threat identification efforts, and conducted host-based forensic investigations in support of legal and ethics related matters. Ashlie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University and a Master of Forensic Science in high-technology crime investigation from The George Washington University.
