In his role, he assists the executive team and functional leaders across the company with developing, communicating, executing and sustaining corporate strategic initiatives. Gorka has spent the last 30 years in security with experience spanning leadership roles across product management, sales, marketing and operations. Most recently, Gorka was senior director and security and risk management analyst at Gartner driving coverage for SIEM, SOC, and managed detection and response (MDR), while also leading research for IT leaders on emerging topics. Prior to Gartner, Gorka led business development at Splunk where he established and built the Splunk security ecosystem. Prior to Splunk, he established presence for LogLogic in Southern Europe, ran security activities for Unisys in France and launched the first partner-led intrusion detection and prevention system (IDPS) in the industry as lead for NetScreen’s Emerging Technology efforts. A certified CISSP, Gorka received a computer science degree from Universite de Pau in France before moving to the U.S. as a Ph.D. candidate in network security at the University of Miami.\nWill Mendez is the Managing Director of Operations of CyZen, with nearly 15 years of experience strategizing and executing innovative cybersecurity solutions for a range of clients spanning multiple industries. Will brings tactical experience as a former Information System Security Specialist at the Department of Defense.  His past experience also involves working with the Army to devise a proprietary government tool to sanitize classified hard drives and media.\nAFFILIATIONS:\nThe International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2)\nInformation Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)\nUnited States Marine Corps Reserve (July 1988 – December 1995)\nEDUCATION:\nWill received a B.S. in Computer Science at New York University Polytechnic and ME in the study of Network Information Systems at Stevens Institute of Technology.\nSession 2 Speaker(s):\nScott Williamson, vice president of security and information services at True Digital Security, is highly experienced as a veteran enterprise IT and security architect. Having worked with global corporations and highly regulated environments, he has leveraged that expertise in the development and management of True’s security operations center, as well as leading True’s incident response team. Scott also sits on the Academic Advisory Board at Oklahoma State University-IT, informing their curriculum for four-year educational training programs. Alongside his capable team of security analysts, who have received extensive training and maintain security clearances, Scott works closely with clients not only to intercept and remediate security incidents, but plan for improvements that will make them more efficient and secure going forward.
